Just watched an auction end with no bidders on the First Pam 312 I've seen on Ebay. Can't say I'm surprised he didn't get any bidders as the opening bid was $10,499 with a buy it now at $11,499. Now I have no problem with someone trying to make a little money on ebay but that much above the $7,400 retail prices seems a bit much. I bet he would have gotten more action if the starting bid was more reasonable at say $9k.

    What do you guys think?

    Cheers, Jeff

9k is too much IMO. My brother just back from HK, and he said HK AD sell for only 7k!!! Brand new...How about that?

This is nothing new on eBay I am afraid. It sometimes can be an ok way to get a rough idea of what an item is worth but not always the case. The seller can basically sit at their PC and make up whatever silly price they want. Kind of like taking a gamble on the I.O.T.O.S theory (It Only Takes One Sucker). Some people do not know as much about these things and no clue on prices (nor do they have the time or common sense to check). That guy is just trying his chances at a quick buck like most i've seen selling some watches on eBay. Another good example of this is the seller in Florida who has all of those Vintage Rolexes selling for liteally 2 - 3 times their actual value.
