Also known as the Jules Vern strap because Panerai released this strap with a dedication watch to Jules Vern.
I first saw this strap on another forum in a show your Panerai thread.
The guy wearing it said that HK Tan made it. Upon further search I found out that Panerai
makes them in limited numbers as it is not easy to transform
it from scaly reptile to velvetty reptile.
Very luckily the boutique had one at the main office that was reserved for someone who did not come claim it in over 3 weeks.

    Here are some quick snapshots.
Ill post some better pics & and a more indepth review when the sun comes out and I have time.

    Thanks, Saif!

It's my understanding that those "Jules Verne" straps patine very nicely!

This is not a " Made in Austria " strap - says ITALIA on the back. that's what makes me drool.

Dave, I have 7.25" wrists and the XL did not work for me at all because the buckle end reached way past the center of my wrist towards the 6 on the case. Also, unfortunately the standard 117/75 is a little short. There is not enough tail IMO but passable.

    John, thanks a lot :)

Bo, those references are correct. I have the MX003863 (Standard length: 115/75). Its odd that the catalog does not mention the nubuck part of the strap which IMO is the major selling aspect of the strap. Otherwise its like any ol' gold color alligator strap.

    Jeff, thanks :)

I'm definitely going to break out the DSLR & macro lens. The silly little blackberry cam does not do the nap justice.

I hadn't thought about its patination aspect. Now that you and others have mentioned it I too am looking forward to it.
I only hope it does not lose its nap and luster. I think the shine (like on a well groomed horse) and the soft nap are my favorite characteristics of nubuck.

Does anyone know in which direction to direct or brush the nubuck?

Should it ultimately look dark or light? Its similar to suede in that brushing it one direction darkens and vice versa.
Ive worn suede all my life but never figured out the natural flow of fibers.

Ive brushed mine so that its lighter, this way the reptile scale indents appear more pronounced as they are recessed and are darker. So by brushing in the direction that lightens it, the natural creases appear more due to the of contrast of dark and light.
