Well, I just shipped my trusty Speedy off to its new owner an hour ago. It was such a good watch and served me well for the past 10 months. During that time it accompanied me to Hawaii, the TKF GTG in Las Vegas, and Paris. With the addition of my new LV-c and w/ me re-prioritizing what's most important in my life, I thought it best to let it go. It just doesn't make sense (to me anyway) to have a $4,500 watch sitting in a watch box most of the time. My new LV will be my daily watch and I have my U-Boat for when I'm in the mood for something different. So long Speedy... you were good to me and you'll be missed! :bye: :crying:

It's all about priorities and living within your means. You did what was right for you and that's what's important.

Well, Jeff, it was fun while it lasted, eh?

Nothing wrong at all with that gorgeous Sub!!

You know, I can really relate to your feelings about just having it sit in it's box. I am at the stage now in my watch "career", where I am seriously thinking "Enough is enough." I have been having serious thoughts about just having one watch.

I just sold my Seamaster 300M to a lovely young lady in Calgary, and I know she is going to get lots and lots of pleasure out of it. Likewise, my Explorer I is going to a friend in Toronto, and I am just keeping it for him until he raises the funds.

That leaves me with my Speedy and my Cartier Tank Solo. The Tank, I don't mind being in it's box a lot, because it is quartz.

Anyway, I am sure you will miss the Speedy from time to time. But, if it were me, I would rather see it on someone else's wrist than in the box.

Your post actually brought tears to my eyes. While I love the Speedy, and it is not huge, I would actually prefer a smaller watch. I have had my eyes on the AT8500 blue dial midsize for months now, and whether I keep the Speedy or not, it will be my next watch. Just don't know if I can go so far as to sell the Speedy, though! Time will tell.

    Cheers
    Carl

Sad for sure Jeff. That sub though is awesome! Seems you made the right choice. I would give my sub and dj for that one as well as some cash I am sure.

Only time will tell but I could see another Speedy making its way back to Jeff sometime later as well.
