This model isn't shown on Omega's site, yet (as aren't many other new models)..

I love the version with white dial on Cordura strap... wouldn't react allergically to that one, either! :rocker:

The 40mm size must be a type in the info I got, though. I'm sure it's the same (42mm) size as regular Speedies but most likely a thicker watch due to it being an automatic...

Actually, this could become my "daily beater". I'll see if my AD has more info about it, including the MSRP.

Exactly. Remind me of an exotic dialed "Paul Newman" Daytona. :)

You know, it really does! Is the Co-Axial escapement in this caliber? I would imagine so, and like the idea that it may be. Stunning watch!

I don't think it's a Co-Ax, Jamie... the dial just says "Chronometer" (see the large click-able pic of the grey dialed version in the link above).

mmm.... interesting design - looks like a Daytona and a new Speedy Pro Date. :dummy:

i think they should have stayed with the old design, then again, that looked like a Tudor chrono.... :dummy:

my Speedy Date got quite a bit of wrist time lately

Yeah, great looking watch, Eric  LOVE how the clasp looks from that angle where you can see the triangle Omega engraving with the others :drooling:

    Awesome Omegas, Eric! :worship:

Looking further into the Cal. 3304 which is used in the Speedies that I posted pics of in my original post, the user manual which can be downloaded on omega.ch states that:

    • There is NO hacking feature (you can't halt the seconds hands via the crown by pulling the crown... you have to force the seconds hand to "stop" by turning the crown ever so slightly counter clockwise).
    • There is NO date adjusting feature via the crown... instead, there is a small opening in the caseside at 10 where you use a pin to advance the date.

    Eric,

Again, very nice shots. I especially like the second one.

The date adjusting feature would drive me crazy. I wasn't aware of this.

While I could used to the pin date setting function - the Omega Speedmaster with moon phases and date that I had for a very short while had the same "issue" - the non hack feature is what makes it kind of a deal breaker for me... it drives me nuts that you can't properly stop the seconds hands to synchronize the watch to another time source. :banghead:
