Thanks for sharing the photos, seems like a nice time. That book you got is a nice book also, probably the biggest and heaviest book I own!

I really like the 127 also, but way too expensive IMHO for a watch with a basic Unitas movement. I still think the 233 or 312 would be your best bet BO. Or if you want a Unitas movement manual wind (which are extremely reliable) go for a 112, 111, 177, or 176.

I would tend to agree with you, Chad! Can't wait to see that PAM00312! Only thing that bugs me about it is that only has a very, very slightly domed crystal. One of the things I love about the current Manifattura collection, including the PAM00233, are their superdomed crystals. I just adore the vintage look of those crystals. But then again they do tend to cause quite a massive distortion of the dial which can be a bit of a pain in the neck at times. The lack of distortion would then be the advantage of the less domed crystals.

BTW.: apparantly, the reason for why the crystal of the PAM00312 has become (almost) flat is that the superdomed crystals of the watches from the current Manifattura range cannot handle the pressure at 300 metres of depth that they new Manifattura line is tested to (current Manifattura line being water resistant to 100 metres "only").

Not sure if I buy that argument, since normally a domed crystal would be tougher than a flat one?

    You lucky bugger.
Sounds like you had a great time!
Trace and I got invited by Rolex to attend the Aust Open Tennis in 2008. What a treat!

I'll definately get a Panerai some day, but still not sure which model to go for.... I have ordered a PAM 312 but am more and more leaning towards the PAM 233 instead.... somehow I think the PAM 312 would only be "second best" to me. Not being able to afford the PAM 233 in near future, it's gonna have to wait...

How much is PAM233 in the states now?

In Singapore, there are many dealers selling it at S$16000, ard US$10600.
