Guys, appreciate your honest comments on this which will help making my decision.

    I currently have this
OMEGA Watches: Seamaster Planet Ocean - Steel on rubber strap - 2901.50.81

I am thinking of getting this one
OMEGA Watches: Seamaster Planet Ocean - Steel on rubber strap - 232.32.42.21.01.003

I know the new Seamaster comes with an improved movement (with 60 hours reserve opposed to 48 hours etc)and ceramic bezel with grey tones. While I appreciate the big delta is the very movement, I am wondering should I still go for it as it is currently being offered at 40% off retail price in London (at an Omega boutique). That's about £2280. Very tempting tbh.

Appreciate comments. Have a nice day.

    Many thanks,
    Sri

They're both very similar in appearance. If you were to get the new one, would you sell the old one? I don't see the point in owning both TBH.

I was going to say the same thing, if you are happy with your present watch the differences IMO do not warrant a change. However if you are just interested in something new I suggest a totally different model or even a different make watch

I really like the look of the ceramic bezel on the new version. That's the one I'd go for.

Thanks Jeff. Appreciate your advise. It makes sense indeed. Probably would go for a Bell & Ross as it's been on my list for a while now... What do you think of this?

That's a smart looking watch. I've always liked those. They're affordable too.

Keep your 2500 PO. It's a nicer looking watch than the new model, IMO. As for that B&R, I LOVE that model. I've actually been kicking around the idea of picking up the SS beige dial variant, but am afraid it would wear too big on ME.

Thanks Kat. Appreciate it. Tbh I'm not fully swayed to the new model rather like the deep greys of the 2500. So Casino Royale it is and Skyfall loses in the end?:)

There's a lot to pick from Bell & Ross... I really like those... Quite affordable and classy...

Both great watches, all down to which bezel you prefer. :banghead:

Personally, I would keep the one you have.

No doubt the new PO is gorgeous. I was seriously looking at one for my next watch (until I decided on an AT). While I like the grey ceramic bezel, I would prefer it if it was black. Having had the Seamaster with the black ceramic bezel, I think it looks much sharper.

    Cheers,
    Carl

The B+R's are much more Spartan than pretty much any Omega. Not sure if you would get bored with that style of watch.

    This or that or both

Both are looking great and almost similar. But I would go to second one.

Keep the 2500 PO. I like the older bezel better. I'm finding the new one is too light, and looks washed-out. Would be nice if they did the bezel darker to go with the dial. Contrast is good, but not in this case.

I believe the 2500 is also a bit thinner. The new one is really thick.

Plenty of other watches out there, as others have said.

    Cheers,
    Carl

Have you taken a look at the newer Tag Heuer's? I've taken a liking to their Aquaracer 500M's.
