Every time I see that Breitling, Chip, I think something has been 'censored' on the dial, with the 2 black oblongs!

You are absolutely correct! I feel the same way.

I REALLY wish Breitling would make this model sans the digital readouts. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

It's a good sign of function over form, though  Tool watch elements and all that...

Is there not a way to leave the digital readouts on all the time? That way there's not large black boxes on the dial. If so, that's what I'd do.

You can have them on 24/7 if you want to but I like it better off I think. Makes me forget it's a quartz watch LOL.

If you want them on, your choices are Local Time, 2nd Time, Day Date, Date and Seconds, Timer, Alarm, Chronograph. I think that's it.

I'm with Jeff, I think - I'd have it displaying something. Embrace the quartz technology, dude!

Oh, man, I'd leave them on! Would look much cooler than empty black boxes IMHO.

The top one is kinda stupid as all it does is display the function shown on the bottom LCD.
For example, if you keep the bottom one on 2nd time zone, the top screen displays T2. If you are on chrono, it shows CHR. Timer... TMR. etc.

It's more or less a pointless screen IMHO.
