    Default Vintage Submariner Ad's, 1960-1970

    This is a few vintage Submariner ad's, from the 1960-1970 if you have some Submariner ad's please post them for everyone to see.



    Gordon Ingate, nearing 82 years of age, became the oldest skipper ever to become an Australian yachting champion when he was declared winner of the 2008 Prince Philip Cup for the International Dragon one-design class.

    James Francis Calvert (September 8, 1920 – June 3, 2009) served in the United States Navy, where he commanded the USS Skate, the third nuclear submarine commissioned and the second submarine to reach the North Pole, which became the first to surface at the pole when it did so on August 11, 1958.


    The habitat, developed by Dr. Joseph MacInnis, was first launched on June 24, 1969, in a depth of 33’ at a site 250’ offshore in Little Dunk’s Bay on the Bruce Peninsula in Georgian Bay near Tobermory, Ontario. The original plan called for it to be used in that location for 2 years

    Cheers David, very nice ads................ Im still crying at the $210 bucks purchase price................ i dont think you can buy half the bracelet for that price nowdays LOL

    lol.......
    btw, is the watch on the Navy ad ( where the guy is looking in a periscope) a 5512 ?
    ..........looks like a gilt dial 5512 as there appears to be 4 lines above the 6 oclock marker..... I cant quite tell as the last 2 lines look faint .........

    You may be correct the 5512 5513 are hard to separate in a photo like that one.

    These old ads are just as good today as they were back then IMHO.
    Rolex were and still are masters of advertising.
