I bought this watch a week or so ago, just because of the scarcity/rarity of it. It is only a 17 jewel run of the mill watch, medium quality at best. This Illinois watch was apparently in a serial number block of 500 watches made, but in the Illinois bible printed in 1975, it shows that none had been seen, since that time there has only been one other one noted. That tells me that likely the run had been cut short for some reason, possibly little interest in this particular watch, lack of sales, etc. We likely will never know.
But knowing as of this date there are only 2 of these watches noted, and being the holder of one of them, is kind of neat.
Here are some pictures of this particular scarce watch.
