MSTShareTweetShareShareVic Fangio discusses team at 2019 NFL Scouting CombineDennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY SportsDenver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio met with the media at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine on Wednesday. He covered a wide variety of topics related to the Broncos offseason strategy. Fangio revealed that Emmanuel Sanders and Derek Wolfe would be back with roles on the team, but they expect to let Bradley Roby go ahead and test free agency. “We’re going to see how the free-agent market treats him and we’re going to stay in contact with him,” Fangio said of Roby. “We still have an interest in him, and we’ll see where the process takes us.”He also noted that when evaluating draft prospects tackling is a non-negotiable aspect for his defensive unit in Denver. When it came to the 2019 NFL Draft, Fangio said, “We could use help at all three levels, which is both good and bad. It’s good that it leaves you open in the draft, not tied to one position. And it’s not as good, because you’ve got needs at all three levels. But I think we can shore up those needs rather quickly and hopefully get it going back in the right direction.”With the Broncos reportedly trading for quarterback Joe Flacco at the beginning of the league year, they should be wide open with the 10th overall pick to get the best player available at any position of need. The Denver Broncos and the Houston Texans released their first injury report of the week today ahead of their Sunday afternoon match up. For the Broncos, they had five players sit out practice including multiple starters. For the Broncos, rookie running back Royce Freeman(ankle), rookie wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton(knee), inside linebacker Brandon Marshall(knee) Josey Jewell Jersey , cornerback Bradley Roby(ankle), and safety Darian Stewart sat out practice. With DeShaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, and now Demaryius Thomas coming into the town, the Broncos secondary will be facing a tough test. However, they had two starters miss practice today. Despite their absence, Head Coach Vance Joseph isn’t concerned about his secondary despite the injuries. With Thomas traded to Houston, many expected rookie DaeSean Hamilton to get an increased amount of reps going forward, however, the team and Hamilton will have to wait a few more weeks for that to happen. The rookie wide receiver told reporters he is targeting a Week 11 return from the MCL sprain he suffered against the Cardinals. Look for Tim Patrick to get some increased looks this week while he sits out. In some more positive news on the injury front, Head Coach Vance Joseph said that wide receiver Jordan Taylor and safety/linebacker Su’a Cravens are “ready to come up on the roster.”. As for the Texans, the only player to sit out practice was inside linebacker Zach Cunningham. However, they did have 9 players listed as limited for today’s practice.
