I recently bought this Orient watch from an eBay seller from Singapore. I was able to get this watch for $94 CAD shipped. I thought this was a good deal.

Orient watch company was founded in 1950, though it has roots dating back to 1901. It has since been acquired by Seiko, but it has allowed it to keep its watch and movement designs intact, seperate from Seiko.

I wanted something classy that can be worn on outings with my wife or with friends at gatherings, so I thought I'd add this to my collection.

This particular watch uses Orient's Caliber 46E. It is a 21 jewel movement.

This model is no longer produced, and the particular model that I have is model # 46E701-91 CS.

The crystal is made of hard mineral, similar to my Seiko Diver SKX007.

    Case size is 36mm.

The dial is silver, hands are gold in colour.

    Bezel is fluted.

The lume on this watch is poor to non-existent. I haven't had a chance to properly charge the markers yet, but it doesn't look promising.

The Day feature cannot be separately be adjusted, rather it has to be adjusted when adjusting the time. The Date can be adjusted manually after the Day has been first adjusted.

Looking at the crown, it is not a screw down crown rather it is a push in crown. The watch is rated as a "Water Resistant". Personally, I wouldn't attempt to wash the car while wearing this.

The band appears to be made of stainless steel, and the links can be adjusted, not by screws or pins but by some friction shims(?). Similar to what Citizen uses.

Watch overall is comfortable, and the band doesn't seem to pull any arm hairs, which is a plus. The watch weight is very light.

I would give the watch an overall rating of 90/100. I deducted 10 pts for the poor lume or lack thereof.

Good value for the money. If Seiko purchased them and kept their watch and movements intact, says something about them. Good review and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
