Looks Ok to me but the case has seen some severe polishing IMHO.
If you could nab it for under 8k USD it would be a good buy.

lol ...i love how all the photos posted have great clarity with the exception of the picture of the underside of the case ...... even from that non focused photo, there doesnt appear to be much "meat" left on the case....
that plus the ole "missing springbar " shots of the lug
    ;-)

Over polishing a case is really a sad suitation, however that may be the only way to fix a problem. I think you can do better, just keep looking. :)

Well , I did not think it would have gone that high . Prices of vintage are down.
Looks like it is worth to find an original dial for mine .. once I find out if it was a meters first or feet first . Seen , heard and read many contradictory accounts . I have punched papers and punched booklet with mine . Major problem is having the white standard service dial on it :banghead::banghead:

Accordingly to Mark Lerman who of course has done some exceptional research on the subject , but some other collectors/traders seem to have come across meters first dials higher then on Mark Lerman's chart .
I would of course prefer it was a meters first , who wouldn't ? But I would not want to invest in one of those if my watch never was a meters first . I have a direct contact with someone at the " departement de patrimoine " at Rolex S.A. in Geneva from when I was getting provenance documents for my Olympic dial Date Just .

Mine is a 2.7mil with a Marc IV, with all supporting docs as well.

Have you been quoted a dial for a meters first?

I may be in the same predicament as you, real soon.

Depending on the condition, and hopefully with the hands (a sweet dial if it also included the dial), would NOT be a bad deal!
