    OK
My first Panerai was the 233 (what a mistake to start at the top)
I have it and love it!
It will be back on my wrists good as new from the Panerai Service
    Center in Dallas VERY soon.

In the midst of the wait I freaked out (fell in love with wearing a Panerai
when I was convinced for eons they were too big and not the watch for me)
so in my freak out I got a J 090 which is like new (dealer doesn't even think
it was ever worn) which will be here Monday or Tuesday.

Anyway the more I look at the pics the less crazy I am about the 090 and the more I realize I don't really want another Panerai as the 233 does it all! I thought of a 317 or a 311 even the Flyback BUT I have NO use for a Chrono and have avoided buying one for years for that reason. The ones I had previously were never used and I always asked myself why I bought them.

So, what do I do now.... I guess I am gonna have to flip the 090 BUT there is really nothing else in that price range I am craving I can think of at this time....

Well, you could hold onto it but if you do not feel the love for the watch sell it then. You have a FANTASTIC collection, so it would be ok. Chronograph can be a very useful tool but I also found myself never using it when my watches had that. Just do not like to play around and touch my watches like that (Yeah I am ). Not to mention the more complication (even if just something like that) the easier it can break / more likely, more time to fix it possibly and more $. So if you do not feel the need for a Chronograph that is ok but with your collection it might be nice. Only you can decide, so let us know what you do

Nahhh just the more I look at it the less I like it.

Id love a Glashutte Original Sports Evolution Perpetual Calendar BUT wont find one close to the value of the 090 (heck haven't been able to find a used one anywhere!)

It would take more than a couple thousand extra to get into the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

Can't get into an AP or Patek....

Could trade for a DSSD BUT no rush for a DSSD as they will be around for a while.

If I could find a really nice vintage SD perhaps.

I am looking at an Omega ProPlof perhaps.

Those all seem like great options. Due to the fact your undecided still you should sell it then if this is the case and hold onto the cash until you narrow it down to the one watch that you would be able to buy with no regrets  Things do change with time, so maybe you might be able to get something better than you think right now. Only thing to do is wait and see

  Well yeah, I know that feeling. Either way though it can help you pick a watch. Some good options in that price range but after seeing the videos Hamilton posted about Patek that is truly something worth saving for, no doubt about it :drooling: :worship: After getting a few more watches like Omega etc etc I will have to aim for one of those, also.

    But seriously:

"PAM 233 I, 16570 M White Exp II, 5513 (1978) ND Sub, 1675 (1967) GMT, 16220 L SS Datejust, Audemars Piquet Skeleton, Breitling Gen II Navitimer, Ball Night Train and Ball LE Conductor GMT"

STUNNING collection, can not help but keep saying that. I am sure you will cross that bridge when you get to it, so just take it one day at a time

    Thanks RW!
    I really appreciate the compliment.
Funny thing is I feel I have nothing... haha
    SOOOO much more I want!
I really may try to get into a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms!
IF I can move a couple things it won't be that tough of
    a reach.
The GO is just out of my range at this time, I have to accept
that but hey its ok as thanks to Jocke I have a Dorbluth on
order :) His pictures of that watch just made me drool and
the fact you talk to the owner when you Email them sold
me right away! Its going to be a wait but well worth it!!!

I am still going to have a couple people look into the GO for
me... The world time feature is just so so BUT a sports watch
with all the other features??? You can't beat it!

I love the Patek Aquanaut BUT people say its not a real Patek.
(also I dont like it on the metal band and damn thats a lot for a
watch on a rubber strap haha)

AP I like the RO Dual Time (not into the ROO as I dont need a chrono and
it looks crappy without a chrono) and there are no deals to be found on the
DT now due to it being a fairly recent model still.

Rolex.... Perhaps a Mil GV but what I really want is a President Plat with Ice Blue and Romans numerals or a RG with a white face and Romans BUT those surely aren't in the budget haha....

Jyogi, i must be honest with you, i own a pam90 and i love it but my ideal Panerai is the 233 and i wish to own one some day. On the other hand i also do know how you feel about wearing a Panerai since your watch has been in service for a while so i cant blame you for getting another Panerai.

Now the thing is that the pam90 is a great watch but what will you do when your 233 is back? so if i was you i would wear the pam90 for a while and then get rid of it and keep your 233.

I love my pam90 and i wear it with pride but some day when the time will be right i think i will get a 233.

    a pic of my 90

I would pick of a Glashütte Original Senator Navigator Panoramadate.

:coolanimated: that you've ordered a Dornblüth watch! I think you'll love it! :rocker:

I would hold off passing judgment on the 90 till you get it, you may like it more than you imagine. I agree with Bo regarding the Dornbluth those are very cool watches, his suggestion of the GO Senator is also a great idea. If I had the resources though I think I would be looking to add an IWC if you don't love the 90. The IWC Spitfire double chrono is very high on my santa wish list at this time!

IWC is nice BUT hope you never have to deal with their customer service.
I was just on the phone with them the other day trying to help a client
who bought a watch from them and I really felt like I was talking to a wall.
I have heard that from quite a few people as well. Besides no use for a
Chrono.. An alarm watch???? Now that may be another story.

I am not even going to wear the 90, as soon as it gets here pics are going up
to trade it since its new and I don't wanna risk marking it up.
I have no doubt its a great watch BUT IF I was going for that
look Id wait and get the inhouse coming but I honestly can't see myself
wearing it when I have the 233.

Senator Navigator is a great looking watch but just not my style for some reason.
The Sports Evo Perp Cal just amazes me. I can't think of another tough sports watch with that beauty and complications for the money....

I have considered selling my GMT and even my ND Sub with the 90 to get into a DD, DDII, Patek or AP BUT I really like owning those
vintage pieces and think they are just going to grow in value with time.

After having owned a Panerai 233 (and several other Panerais) and a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and A Glashutte Sports Evolution and a Glashutte Navigator Automatic, out of all of those the one I still have is the Glashutte Navigator Automatic. So that should say something. I am a big fan of anything Glashutte, especially their Navigator line up and Senator Sixties line up. Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms is a superb dive watch, but there is a heavy purple AR tint on the cyrstal, that I did not care for. I would have to say, go for a Glashutte Navigator, either the Automatik or the Chronograph. Autos are sold occasionally on the second hand market for $4K. New one will run you just over $5k and the Chrono a little more, maybe around $6K. If you do buy a BP FF, get one used as they depreciate a lot. If Panerai, go for Titanium models, not as top heavy and more comfy on the wrist, and retain and transfer heat much better. My 233 got hot as hell on the wrist in Afghan during the summer, but the 118 I had was cool all the time. The Glashutte Line, does not transfer heat that much either, due to matte finish???? Also slimmer fitting cases, and very niced slightly domed crystals. Plus, the Glashutte is almost worth buying for just to get the wooden box and wooden loupe that comes with the watch!

Yeah I know what you mean with that particular Patek watch. I personally would never buy that one, for a sport watch there are just too many other brands that have perfected that. Patek for me is or would be all about a leather strap, complication grail watch :drooling:

You have got some other great advice / suggestion from the members that posted here. Still have a lot to think about because you mention many nice watches. I know what you mean regarding the collection. Only going to have my 3rd soon but it feels like i'm naked still and NEED a watch for some reason LOL. What can I say, an addiction but only buy cash and even for brands that depreciate bad they hold value better than many other things.
